REVIEW BY VERA DAY

This is a Christian cozy mystery/romance. Gia is a young widow and the main character. She’s kind, forgiving, loving, and patient. She’s also very creative in both furniture refinishing and business entrepreneurship. I enjoyed cheering her on.

We also get the point of view of Rand, Gia’s love interest. He’s nice and runs the Tea & Cakes shop. From Zack’s description of the teas and coffees and cakes, it sounds absolutely yummy. Gia notices the decor of the Tea & Cakes shop (which inspired the book’s cover):

A picture on the pink pin-striped wall caught her eye. It featured a squirrel that looked right at her and, of all things, was playing a violin. And there it was. The perfect representation of her crazy life.

Finally, we get the point of view of the villain which is done very, very well and doesn’t give away who it is until the end.

The mystery aspect is SO good. I was convinced character A was the bad guy, then character B, then character A again, then character C… Mystery lovers will get a kick out of this one. The Christian aspect is not intrusive but germane to the characters’ lives. I liked the highlighted themes of forgiveness and redemption. Last but not least, the romance aspect was totally sweet and adorable.

A couple of awkwardly worded sentences that caught my eye were not enough to dampen my enjoyment of the book. I loved it!

Overall, The Teacup Conspiracy is an engaging read, a fabulous whodunit, and an adorable romance. Zack has several sweet-romance books published, too, but I hope she writes another cozy mystery because The Teacup Conspiracy is such a good read. I rate it five fabulous fish!

I read The Teacup Conspiracy through Kindle Unlimited.

    1. This is in my top two cozies ever, which surprised me because it’s a tad sappy, and I don’t usually go for the too sweet story. But it’s so engaging, and the mystery is so GOOD!

  1. Cozy mysteries can be hit-and-miss with me, but I enjoy those with interesting characters and a welcoming setting, so I’ll check this one out. Thanks for another great review, Vera.
